Use a quality sunscreen
Pretty simple for the most part. Regardless of skin type, whenever you’re exposing your skin to direct sunlight for extended periods of time you should be protecting it. Don’t just grab any sunscreen though, we recommend avoiding those with harsh toxic chemicals and choosing one recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation.

Stay hydrated
Recommended water intake per day for the average male is 3 liters! Easier said than done. One trick that our friend Joe Carabase taught us is before grabbing the morning coffee or juice, go for the water. Down a liter to start your day and not only will you have a head start on hydration but don’t be surprised if you have more energy and feel better throughout the day.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.
Ok gents. You don’t like to moisturize, we get it. It’s an activity that probably seems unnecessary and why spend a couple rounds of beer money on a tube of cream right? Whether you have dry or oily skin, what you probably don’t know is that good moisturizers don’t necessarily add moisture to your skin, they restore a balance. Simplify your skin regimen and kill two birds with one stone by using a moisturizer with an SPF in it on mornings when you know you’ll be exposed to UVA & UVB rays.

Aloe
Whether it’s diluted with other summer skin goodies or by itself, aloe vera application is a must during the summer months. In addition to the cooling relief and healing properties for scars and burns, aloe also promotes collagen production and increases water retention. It’s natural to reach for the aloe post-burn but we recommend regular post-sun use maintain healthy skin.
